A New Sheriff In Town and a Halloween Bash

Jasper's Parents have an annual Halloween party and this year we were excited to take Jax for the first time!  I was pretty excited for his costume.  Because both of my Grandfathers were sheriffs, when I was pregnant my grandmother gave me a sheriff hat and my mom gave me a sheriff onesie.  As soon as I realized they would fit Jax at 6 months I knew what his Halloween costume would be.  I just had to find the boots and voila, instant sheriff costume!

I will admit, it was a struggle to get him ready for this party.  I had kept up with this onesie for almost an entire year (no small feat for me!).  Wouldn't you know that the day of the party I can't find the onesie.  I looked EVERYWHERE.  I started to panic.  I mean logically I knew that life as we know it wouldn't end if my baby didn't have his full costume on for this party, but at that moment in time it sure felt like it.  Luckily, my amazing husband was there to save the day when he found the onesie ... in Jax's dresser.  It's always the last place you look, right?

My friend Paige and her girl Ava came over to our house and went to the party with us.  I will say, little Miss Ava was the cutest little bumble bee I have ever seen.  Jax is pretty obsessed with Ava and I thought this picture of them was adorable.

At the party!

My parents came up to the party as well because they couldn't miss seeing Jax in his costume.

I loved following Ava around and snapping pictures, that is such a fun age and she was into everything.

Jax's Meme dresses up as the Fairy Godmother every year.  She plans the entire party for the kids and has lots of games and prizes for them all.

While the big kids were outside playing the games, Jax hung out with his grandfathers inside.

Speaking of games, there were tons of them.  Here are some pictures I snapped while the kids were playing.

Seeing double!  When I saw these two little guys in their Mario costume, all I could think of is the "Who Wore it Best?"section in my people magazine.  I think it was a tie. :)

Tina and her sister Marilyn.  I was told she was Charlie Chaplin (her jacket was in the house).
However, Jasper was apparently told she was Groucho Marx.
Who do you think she looked liked?

Charlie Chaplin

Groucho Marx
Cutest little pig ... EVER.

Chloe gets the award for most authentic costume I think.  I will be honest, when she came in I had no idea who she was.  When she told me the name of her character, I still had no clue.  Turns out she was Bellatrix Lestrange from Harry Potter.  Since I have never read a Harry Potter book or seen a movie, I had to come home and google her, not bad and she even made the outfit herself!

While the kids played outside, the adults (who didn't have to run the games) got to hang out inside and have some fun as well. :)

I loved these pictures of Jax and Tommy.
First Jax was showing Tommy how he can stick his tongue out and blow raspberries.

Then Tommy was apparently teaching Jax about guns.  Way to be a great role model Tommy. :)

Sticking his tongue out is so cute now, I wonder if it will still have the same cuteness when he is doing it in defiance at age 2?

After a couple of hours it was time for the older kids to head to the zoo for trick or treating.  Tina (as the fairy godmother of course) always has the kids gather at the front door so she can magically make their transportation appear outside.  This is what was waiting for them this year.  This limo was pretty sweet and even had a fireplace in it!

Here was the kids reaction when Tina opened the door.

All the kids, minus Ava for some reason, in front of the limo ready to head to the zoo!

One of my favorite pictures of Jax and I, you can also really see how much this guy slobbers!

All in all it was a wonderful party.
Now we are ready to dress up again next week to hand out candy on Halloween!
