Happy Halloween!

So I know I already posted pictures of Jax in his Halloween costume here, but you didn't think that would stop me from taking lots of pictures of him on Halloween as well did you?  Sure Jax's bedtime is 6:30 before most trick-or-treating begins around here and he can't eat the candy, but we dressed him up to show off to the neighbors anyway.  Besides, Jasper really wanted some candy.
Here is our little sheriff ready for his big night.

His costume seemed to be missing something that every sheriff needs ... deputies, deputy dogs that is!

My mom found these hilarious sheriff costumes for the dogs and we couldn't resist trying to get a group shot.  Gotta love my husband.  I told him I wanted to dress them all up and instead of telling me I was crazy he just said "sure."  I am glad my family puts up with my crazy ideas.  The dogs tolerated the costumes MUCH better than anticipated.  Still, with two dogs that don't know the meaning of the word stay and one 6 month old, the odds of getting a picture of them all sitting together was slim.  The picture above was the best we got.  Here were a few others.

Ready to go trick or treating!

After we made our stops (all 4 houses) Jasper took the dogs on a well deserved walk while Jax and I went back inside.

We hung out on the front porch for a little while until it was Jax's bedtime (well before most trick or treaters came).  This year I forgot to get candy until the day before and remembered while I was at Whole Foods.  They didn't have lots of candy options, but they had Halloween pretzel packs.  I thought that was a great option so I picked a few bags up.  Jasper's response was "so we are going to be those people that hand out pretzels at Halloween?"  Jax loved the pretzel bags though (even if he didn't get to eat any) so I think that is proof they were just as good as candy.

While Jax played with the pretzels, Jasper ate his candy.
How many years do you think Jasper will get away with this?

This was taken right before taking Jax in for his bath.  He was sooo tired but such a good baby during it all.  He loves hanging out on the porch and people watching.  He also apparently loves hats because he wore his the entire time and never tried to take it off.

The girls didn't like that they couldn't greet trick or treaters at the door.  So they resorted to looking and barking from the window.  Our house is mass chaos for little trick or treaters.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

My Best Friend's Wedding

I am finally getting around to posting pictures from Paige's beach wedding and am also adding a few pictures we took at her Louisville reception that was this weekend.  While I did posts about our trip to Florida here, here and here, I hadn't had the opportunity yet to sort through all the pictures I took at Paige's wedding itself, and there were a lot!  I was so glad that I was able to make it to Florida to be a part of Paige's big day.  This girl means more to me than I ever imagined a friend could.  She is the sister I never had and always wanted and I am so happy that she is so happy.  While she had a photographer there that was fantastic, she let me play amateur photographer as well and it was a lot of fun!

I came a little early to help Paige get ready.

Before the ceremony little Miss Ava took a little power nap.  She had to be ready for the big event!

Since the photographer was taking pictures of Paige as she walked down the aisle, I took pictures of Ryan as he first saw her.  Priceless.

This was Ava's reaction to seeing her mom.  She is so cute!

The ceremony itself.

My family, minus Jasper of course.

Ava was very happy when the ceremony was over and she could be with her mommy.

Jax got a little mommy time as well.

While everyone was enjoying the reception and the great food, Jax and Ava were both being changed in the bedroom.  When they both got on the bed they kept reaching for each other, so precious!

Cutting the cake.

By the end we were all wiped out.

Saturday night we went to the reception in Louisville for Paige and Ryan at Glassworks.  I didn't any pictures of the reception itself because the lighting was low and I am  not great with my camera yet.  Here are the pictures I did manage to get before the reception and of my family though.

Getting there early to help paige get ready and being greeted by a very excited Miss. Ava.

Jax and Ava, Jax is just obsessed with her and is always reaching for her.

The whole family at the reception.

Me and my little man.  So cute.

Dad loved hanging out with Jax.  I tried really hard to get them both to look at the camera but it didn't happen.

This is the closest I got.  Jax refused to keep his hands out of his mouth and my dad figured "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em."

Jax with his Madre and Papa Bear!

Dancing during the reception

They had a characteur artist at the reception and this is Jax's.  Not bad!

I cannot get enough of this hat.  Jax kept it on the entire reception.
While Jax managed to stay up past his 6:30 bedtime and do pretty well, we definitely left earlier than we used to from wedding receptions.  We still had a fabulous time celebrating with Paige and Ryan.  Congrats guys and thanks for letting us be a part of your wedding!
