I just love this look. Think he knew what was about to happen?
There's our happy little baby.
After we went back to the room the nurse had us strip Jax down so we could get his measurements. Jax LOVES being a naked baby so never seems to mind this part too much. While we were waiting for Nurse Lori to come back for us, Jasper snapped this picture. It just melts my heart.
All ready!
I didn't take any pictures beyond this point because, well, things got interesting. Jax needed to get shots and we knew this. What we didn't know was that Jasper and I needed to get a shot as well, the flu shot. I use to have a big fear of needles, like a "freak out and start shaking" fear. That fear quickly left out of necessity though when we were trying to get pregnant. I was poked and prodded more times than I care to remember and in the end I was even able to give myself shots. This isn't even counting the IV's and epidural for labor and delivery itself. A flu shot is nothing to me. Jasper on the other hand, still isn't a fan of needles. After trying to convince the nurse that it probably wasn't necessary for him (she wasn't buying it) he gave in. While Jax might have protested more during the shots themselves, he definitely got over the shots more quickly than his father! :) Eventually everyone was fine though and we had a great rest of the day.
Here were Jax's stats:
Weight: 17 lbs 9 oz 50 percentile
Length: 26 inches 40 percentile
So my kid is average. I will say that I get a little worried because his percentile drops with each visit it seems but the Doctor says he is great and right where we want him to be. As she puts it "Amanda, he was off the charts to begin with, you don't want to him stay that way!" I know I worry too much about nothing so I just trust he is right where he needs to be. Jax got another clean bill of health and that's what is important!
