Back to Reality

We have settled down from our latest trip and our back to our normal routine (well as normal as life with an almost 6 month old can be I guess).

This week we did a lot of this...

We did a little of this ...
And the dogs did a whole lot of this...

On Monday night I got REALLY sick.  The next morning I still felt terrible.  Luckily I have AMAZING support when it comes to taking care of Jax.  Jax's Meme came over early in the morning before work to watch him and Jax's Madre came a little later to take over and help with him the rest of the day while I got better.  While I was in bed for much of the day. I did manage to snap this shot of Jax trying to eat the leg warmers my mom was trying to put on him so she could take him outside.  He thought it was such a funny game.

Luckily, I felt much better by Wednesday.  It was such a short period of time that I felt bad that we think it might have been food poisoning.  Anyway, on Wednesday we had a play date with my friend Tiffany and her little man Porter.  Porter is 8 weeks older than Jax and it was so much fun to watch them interact.

This might be the first time Jax has gotten possessive over a toy.  He wasn't too sure about Porter having it in his mouth, but he eventually got over it.  He will have to learn to share at some point, might as well be now!

While I haven't left Jax much, I took a big step this weekend and left him TWICE!  First, on Friday night we got tickets to the Louisville Red/White scrimmage.

My parents came up and watched Jax and played a little basketball themselves.

Saturday was gorgeous and we started out by heading to the Farmer's Market.  Jax has been growing so quickly, I went to put these overalls on him that were too big just a few weeks ago.  When I put them on I realized he was about to outgrow them!  At least he got to wear them once, there are some clothes we won't get to say that about!

There was an event going on next to the Farmer's Market, the Doulapalooza.  Here is Jax with Amy, an amazing doula that comes to our house.  Jax LOVES Amy. :)

Jax really enjoys the Farmers Market because there is so much to look at and watch.  He could just sit and watch all the people all day long.  Here he is checking out the produce.

I have said it before but it is worth another mention, not many Farmer's Markets have upscale restaurants that make amazing food for breakfast and lunch.  Here are some ribs from Asiatique that were uh-maze-ing.

When we got back, I bundled Jax because it was a little cooler than I had expected.  I think Jasper was making fun of me a little for overreacting when he posed for this picture.

After the Farmers Market we headed over to a "sprinkle" for our cousin Genny.  She is having a little girl in December and needed some girly things she didn't get when she had Jack.

Since Jack had just turned 3 and we hadn't seen him yet, we brought his birthday present to the sprinkle.  I didn't want his little sister to have all the fun!

Looking back through all the pcitures I realized I didn't take a single picture of Genny opening her presents.  I guess that is what happens when you are distrated by a baby.  Jax was pretty good though the event ran into his naptime.  Luckily we had Sophie with us which can provide lots of entertainment!

Later on in the afternoon I left Jax for the second time this weekend to get a much needed massage.  I was laughing because Jax had not one but FOUR babysitters for the 2 hour period when I was gone:  Mikey, Meme, Uncle Kevin and Megan.  Either they were worried Jax was going to be a very difficult baby, or he provides lots of free entertainment, I am not sure which.

Whew, so there is our week.  Today was another busy day that involved lots and lots of pumpkins, but that is for another post. :)
