How to Pick the Perfect Pumpkin

Before having Jax, there were many things I envisioned us doing as a family.  One of thsoe things was picking pumpkins in the fall.  I couldn't wait to take Jax out to the farm to pick pumpkins and today we had the perfect weather for it.  I have always wanted to go to Huber's Farm, but was not sure we wanted to make the 45 min trip.  I am so glad we did.  What a fun place for kids and families.  We had such a great day and Jax just spent the entire time staring at the bright pumpkins and all the people around him.  He couldn't get enough of it all.  Of course I took lots of pictures and here are just some of my favorites.  

I couldn't get Jax to look at me for a picture all day because he was just fascinated by the pumpkins.  And yes, I did put a pumpkin hat on my kid ... admit it, it's cute. :)

There are lots of activities for kids at Huber's.  I imagine this trip will be the shortest we ever take because in years to come Jax will be asking to ride all the rides and see everything!

Riding over to the pumpkin patch!

Jax seemed to like the tractor ride. 

We headed out in search for the PERFECT pumpkins.

Here Jasper had one and was on the hunt for the other two, we wanted one each. 

Again, it was nearly impossible to get Jax to look at us or the camera, 

all he wanted to do was check out the pumpkins.

Once we got home Jax was sleeping so Jasper and I started the task of carving the pumpkins.  Jasper says he can't recall every carving one before, but he thinks he MAY have done it once as a child.  Needless to say, this wasn't his favorite family activity.  

In fact, once Jax woke up Jasper ever so graciously offered to hold Jax while I finished. :)

Here was the finished product.  Jasper's was the "IV" and Jax's was the "V."  I did a "W" for the family, but Jasper said if we turned it upside down it could stand for "Mom."

Here was Jax checking out his very first pumpkin.  

Soon after this picture Jax found the one thing as interesting as pumpkins, leaves ... that can go in your mouth.
