For as much as I like to talk, I am surprisingly good at keeping secrets. I am like the gold vault at Fort Knox. Well Jasper and I have had a little secret for the past several weeks that we are finally ready to share ... Jax is going to be a big brother! That's right, we are headed for two under two (and way under two at that) because Baby #2 (otherwise known as Gary) is due on November 6. That is also election day which seems pretty appropriate to those that know us well.
Why Gary you might ask? No we don't know for sure that we are having another boy, but we feel pretty sure about it. I am calling it mother's intuition. And the name Gary, well it is an interesting story. Jasper and I have known for a while that we would like to have our second child close in age to Jax. This fall while we were driving back from picking pumpkins, we were discussing when we would like to get pregnant again and then started discussing names just for fun. We still love the girl name we had picked out when pregnant with Jax, so that wasn't an issue. The problem was we could not come to anything close to an agreement on boy names. Basically I hated Jasper's picks and he hated mine. We talked about how hard it is to find a boy name with a special meaning like Jax's. I mean he is the fifth generation of Jaspers for goodness sakes. We joked that instead of trying to come up with a name we like as much as that, we should just name our kid Gary, no middle name, just Gary. Not sure why that name came to us, but it stuck. From then on when we talked about when we wanted to get pregnant again we talked about Gary and when we found out we were pregnant, we just knew it was a boy so Gary is what we call him. Not sure the Grandparents on either side are loving our nickname. I keep getting asked "but you aren't going to call him that after he is born, right??" The answer is no, I promise. :)
So we are very excited for this new addition to arrive this fall. We actually found out we were pregnant the day before our house went on the market. So in the span of one week, we found out we were having another baby, listed our house, sold our house and bought another. It has been crazy. I also don't recommend moving while pregnant. I have remained in constant state of exhaustion that isn't showing signs of letting up any time soon. It is all worth it though because I can't wait to meet this precious little baby. We feel so incredibly blessed.
