I know I will probably jinx things for saying this, but we have a GREAT sleeper. Seriously, my kid has more than made up for the fact that he didn't sleep for the first 6 months of his life. He still sleeps 13+ hours a night and takes two solid naps a day. I can't complain ... except I do.
Don't get me wrong, I know how lucky I am that he sleeps so well. It's just that I feel like my kid is sleeping ALL THE TIME. One thing that Jax likes is consistency, he thrives on it. That means naps are at home or in a crib at a grandparents house. Rarely, he will nap in the car if we are on a long car ride during his nap time, but that is it. Since I am home for two naps a day and Jax's bedtime is around 6-6:30, it is hard for us to schedule many activities outside of the home. I basically have one good window of time between his morning and afternoon nap that is reserved for Gymboree, play dates, lunch dates, trips to the mall or grocery, etc. Any other time of day it is hard to fit much in before my kid is ready to hit the sack.
Also, Jax would sleep even more if I would let him. By about 4:30 in the afternoon he starts to let me know he is getting tired. At first he was really fussy at that time of day. Now he is starting to cuddle with me, rub his eyes, and even do this:
He won't go to sleep on the floor, but he pretends like he is. It is pretty cute and I will say I like the cuddles much more than I did the fussy baby. I try my best to keep him playing until Jasper is able to come home. Jasper hurries home early from work almost every day so he can spend some time with him before he goes to bed. Jasper's time with Jax is usually during his "manic baby" mode where he uses every last ounce of energy he has going crazy around the playroom. It is pretty entertaining.
So there you have it, I have complained that my kid is too good of a sleeper. I am sure someday when I am complaining about one of my kids not sleeping well this post will come back to haunt me. :)
