O Christmas Tree

While many traditions for childhood fade as children grow up and leave home, those that remain become even sweeter.  Jasper and his brother have both been grown and out of the house for years, yet every year they get together at their parent's house to help decorate the Christmas tree.  It is such a sweet tradition that I am glad to be able to take part in.  Each year brings another fun story to pass on and every year is slightly different.  For example, one year it took Jasper, his brother and their father so long to go get the Christmas tree that my mother in law and I decided to have some wine while waiting ... and finished a couple of bottles before they returned.  The tree looked "interesting," to say the least, that year.  There are is also always some "discussion" over the lights for the tree and what looks best.  jasper and Kevin LOVE it when they do all the work to put the lights on and we offer our opinions.  We have a blast.

Everyone helps to decorate the tree.  This year it was Jasper's immediate family, his cousin Dara, Sophie and Chloe, and Kevin's girlfriend Megan.

They always finish with the glass angel on top!

Last but not least, tinsel! Lots of it!

Where was Jax during the tree trimming?  Taking a little nap upstairs.
Don't worry, we were keeping an eye on him.

He didn't miss everything though.  Once he was up he got to inspect the tree to make sure it was perfect.

He was even there to put on his first ornament for Mikey and Meme's tree.

Looks like someone is ready for Christmas!

You may have noticed that Jax was in a sailor suit.  His Uncle Kevin was asking why a sailor suit and my response was "why not?"  I couldn't resist this outfit in the store and was excited Jax was big enough to finally wear it!

Now that the tree is up it is almost time for Santa!
