Cousin Kaitlyn

She's here! Jasper's cousin Genny (and Jax's Godmother) had an adorable little girl named Kaitlyn Elizabeth on December 6 and we got to go meet her when she was about 1 week old.  She was 7 1/2 lbs at birth and I hear that is about average.  When your one and old child was closed to 10 lbs though, that seems TINY!  Holding that sweet little newborn didn't help the feeling I have that Jax is growing up way too fast, he looked so big next to her.

Though I don't think he is really old enough to be jealous that I was holding a different baby, 

he didn't like that I wasn't holding him.  

He did pretty well with her though and while he grabbed her leg, 

he didn't swat at her or get loud so she slept through the whole visit.

Kaitlyn's big brother Jack seems to be doing really well with the transition.  We brought him something every three year old needs, a pair of "Monster Feet," as a gift for being such a great big brother.  

I think they were a hit.

Jack was able to get Jax's attention away from the fact that his mom wasn't holding him so I call that a success! 

 

We will see little Miss. Kaitlyn (and the rest of her family) on Christmas Eve and I can't wait!  

She is just so precious.
