Jax is on the MOVE!

On Tuesday this little guy crawled for the first time.

All I can say is thank goodness for iphones because I was able to catch it on video for Jasper and our parents to see as well.  As soon as he crawled for these few seconds, I knew then that our world would never be the same.  Over the next few days he would move a little here and there, but he still wasn't too sure about it all.

Then came Friday.  I was in E-town with my parents for the weekend and was trying to take a picture of jax in his ADORABLE little outfit that he wore to my Dad's Christmas concert.  Jax had other ideas though and instead of sitting still for a photo session he did this:

Looks like my days of easy photo sessions with my kid are numbered.

Since Friday night it seems something has just clicked for Jax because now when you put him down on his belly he instantly is up and trying to move forward.  When Jasper came home from his business trip today Jax was able to crawl to him and it was so sweet to watch.  This milestone is bittersweet for me and sometimes hard to fathom.  How is he getting so big?  Suddenly I am bombarded with reminders that my little guy is getting big and fast.  I am so excited for him as he reaches new milestones, but part of me just wants to hold him tight and hope that he stays my little baby forever.  He will continue to grow, however, and I will deal.  I have promised him that while I might always have the urge to wrap my arms around him tightly and pretend he is my little baby, I will refrain from doing so when it is no longer "cool."  Only time will tell if I can live up to this promise.

For now, my mind is focused on figuring out how the heck to baby proof our house!
