Tis the Season

For us, the holiday season is full of lots of family gatherings.  We are lucky that we live close enough to make almost all the gatherings and I have always loved getting together with our families, whether it is with family we see very often or not nearly often enough.  This year was even sweeter as Jasper and I got to share these experiences with Jax.   Below are some pictures from the Christmas get together from my father's family.

Now that Jax is mobile, I was able to just let him down and let him explore at his own pace.
He loves it.

Presents!  All of our families were so very generous with gifts for Jax.  Our playroom is stocked!

Jasper wasn't as thrilled with the UK socks Jax got.
We will see if those make an appearance on Jax's feet this Saturday!

A baby bird ornament!  Baby Bird was our nickname for Jax when we were pregnant and it says "First Birdwhistell Christmas, Jax 2011" on it.  Thanks Jessie I love it!

Everyone needs some chipmunks in their life!  :)

Our present to Nana.  A picture of Jax in his Sheriff costume
and a picture of my Grandfather, Hoot, in his Sheriff uniform.

We do a gift exchange where you can pick a present to open and then steal from each other.  As Jasper says "nothing says Christmas like stealing form your Nana."  Dad didn't have a hard time picking which present to open because, well, it was labeled "Barry Pick Me!"

Turns out it was from my Uncle and it was a group of Barbershop singing snowmen.  Jax was fascinated by it and I think my Dad joined in with them singing the Bass portion.

We had been so worried about how long we would be able to stay out as many of these get togethers didn't start until close to Jax's bedtime.  He did great though and was a trooper.

Can you see these tired eyes?
We left the evening glad to have spent some great time with our family, thankful there were no meltdowns since we were out WAY past someone's bedtime, and with a happy baby who fell asleep as soon as our car left the driveway.  We call that a success.
