We arrived at our hotel (the Westin Savannah) and Jasper headed off to the conference that was starting that afternoon. It had been a long morning with two flights (we left our house at 5:30 a.m.) so Jax was ready for a big nap. While we were waiting for them to set up his crib I let him play on the big bed. I think he approved.
Our hotel was across the Savannah River from downtown Savannah. There was a free ferry to take visitors from our hotel and the convention center to downtown. Jax seemed to really like the ferry rides and we took several.
This was the view of our hotel from the other side of the river. We had gorgeous weather while down there.
I am obsessed with the trees in Savannah. There are similar trees in Florida near Siesta Key and I have always loved them. If they would grow in Kentucky I would plant a yard full of them.
This trip was our easiest (by far) for many reasons. First, Jax slept ... a lot. Now that he naps to well in a crib and doesn't require us to be pushing him in the stroller for a good nap, we are also able to take a break now and then. Jax also sleeps through the night leaving us well rested for our adventures. Second, we were able to eat out plenty because we found this amazing new contraption, the mesh feeder. You can put chunks of whatever you want (we did apple) in this mesh bag attached to a handle and Jax is able to suck and chew on it without the risk of choking. This thing entertained him for over an hour while we ate and walked around. It was amazing.
Loved this boat that came through the river with "Safety First" on it. That is Jasper's motto and he probably says this to our son 5 times a day.
I was taking pics of Jax to get his adorable hat and got these two great ones that show his two favorite expressions, made within mere seconds of one another.
Happy Baby
Sad Baby
I love being in new cities during the Christmas season. Nothing like Christmas trees and palm trees next to each other to make you realize you are not in Kentucky.
Jax loved the decorations in the hotel lobby. There were giant Christmas trees...
A massive Gingerbread house display...
And SANTA! Apparently he was taking a little golf vacation before his big night.
He was even ok with Jax tugging on his beard.
On our last night there we were able to walk down by the river and see all the lights.
But all the lights of Savannah can't compete with a giant snowflake. :)
