And stopping at our house!
Without giving away my secrets, let's just say I have an "in" with Santa. I used my connections to get him to come to our house before Christmas this year for a Breakfast with Santa party. This is something that we plan on doing annually and had so much fun hanging out with friends and family and getting a visit from the big guy. He even brought Ms. Claus with him. :) Before he got there we all had lots of yummy breakfast food. Suddenly we could hear bells from outside and in came Santa!
Jax wasn't sure what to think when Santa arrived.
He soon decided that if he gave a high five he must be a pretty cool guy.
We had lots of toddlers at the party. They seemed very interested in the guy in the big red suit.
What I loved however was the reaction of the bigger kids. They got what a big deal Santa is.
Santa brought a special treat with him. He read Twas The Night Before Christmas to everyone.
I was impressed with how well the little ones did listening to Santa.
After story time Santa handed out a copy of the book and an ornament to each kid from his Santa sack.
He also listened to each kid tell them what they wanted. The really little ones weren't able to tell him yet, but somehow I think he knew what they wanted.
Jax had started to feel a little under the weather right before the party. By the time it was his turn to sit with Santa you could tell he wasn't feeling it. This was the best picture we could get of the two boys together.
Nothing two parents and a sippy cup of milk couldn't fix though!
Miles on the other hand felt very comfortable with Santa.
This picture reminds me of all that is magical at Christmas.
Santa was great with all the kids. He even let one of them pull his beard to prove he was the real deal.
After visiting Santa there was lots of hot chocolate waiting for everyone as well as milk and cookies.
After everyone got to visit with Santa he and Ms. Claus said their goodbyes. They had to get back to the North Pole because it is kind of busy up there this time of year!
I loved having some time just to catch up with friends before the party was over. With all of us having kids now we don't get together often enough and it was great to catch up while the little ones played.
All the kids were pretty tired from their big visit with Santa.
What I really love about this time of year is enjoying everything that the holidays has to offer through the eyes of a child. It is magical. Seeing them get excited over a visit from Santa was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and I can't wait for him to come again next year!
