Check Out My Crib!

We have been making the transition this week from Jax sleeping in a Rock N Play in our room to in his crib in the nursery. I have had mixed emotions about this transition. I have loved being close to him at night especially since he is not sleeping through the night yet. However, he was outgrowing the Rock N Play and we were ready for him to be in the nursery. It is nice to be able to have the monitor on him and go downstairs after he sleeps, or watch tv in our bedroom.

We started the transition last Friday and for one week he slept in there while I slept in the recliner in his room. Luckily we had bought a really comfortable la-z-boy recliner because those were some long nights. He was up more than normal but overall did pretty well. This weekend I started sleeping in my room again and now we officially have a baby sleeping in his crib by himself!

He is so funny in the crib because he really takes advantage of the extra space and he moves a lot in his sleep. I have watched him during the night roll to one side or completely turn himself around. I have even found him pulling himself to the side of the crib and sticking his arms and legs out of it.

This was the view from the recliner of my little man in the morning after sleeping in his crib for the first time. So sweet.

On a side note: I am wondering if Jax is already reading because the first night after my post on Jax's sleeping (or lack there of) he went back to sleeping for 3 hour plus stretches. Last night was his best night in a long time of 5 1/2 hours and then 3 1/2 hours. While we aren't at full nights of sleep yet, I am happy with this! I think Jax might have taken pity on me a little.
