Big Baby
So I had a Dr. appointment today to check on baby Gary. While I haven't gained any weight since my last appointment, I was informed by my doc that I am now measuring 3 weeks ahead and should prepare for another big baby (Jax was 9 lbs 11 oz). Awesome.
At least I know that I have really cute big babies. :) Gary seemed to know we were talking about him because he has been kicking me non-stop since my appointment. So we are now taking guesses on how much this little guy is going to weigh. I am going to guess 9 lbs 8oz and hope I am not off by too much!

More Family Time
You might think that a vacation and 4th of July pool time might be enough family time for my parents, and if it was just me that might be the case. However, when it comes to Jax, I am not sure there is no such a thing as too much family time for my parents. :) Jasper headed back home after our pool time on Wednesday so he could head out of town the following morning. Jax and I opted to stay a little longer at my parents to hang out by the pool and visit Gey. We went the next day to pick her up at the hospital where she volunteers so we could take her to lunch. When we walked in the lobby and Jax saw her, he took off towards her with his arms extended. Gey then leaned over and scooped him right up. The big grins on their faces were absolutely priceless. I love that both of my grandmothers are able to spend quality time with Jax.
Seconds later she accidentally knocked Jax over with this hug. Jax didn't seem to accept that it was an accident, however. As soon as they got up he looked very mad and immediately pushed her back over causing her to cry. I, of course, was horrified. Luckily the little girl's grandmother found humor in the situation and we just tried to separate them. Apparently Jax can hold a grudge though because he continued to try and follow her around looking like he was ready to knock her back down again. I finally had to just pick him up to leave because he wouldn't leave the poor girl alone!
We went down to Glendale for lunch at the Whistle Stop.
I love Glendale because it is such a pretty little town.
Jax liked the food.
After his nap, we headed over to the kids play area at the mall. Jax was really enjoying it this visit.
There was a sweet little girl there that was very interested in Jax.
This is when she came over to give him a hug.

The next morning Jax and I accompanied Madre to the farmer's market.
I think it is fair to say he had a good time.
Jax also got to spend some more time with his Papa Bear.
We even did a little more pool time before heading back.
Now Jax and I are ready to relax back at home for a little while.
After the busy couple of weeks we have had it is time for a break!

A Patriotic Swim
Deciding we didn't get enough sun on vacation, we headed down to my parents house and hit the pool for the 4th of July. Here we are in our red white and blue. :)
Jasper's parents had plans to join us. Unfortunately Mike was still getting over a case of strep throat and couldn't come (mainly because he wanted to keep from getting us sick!). Tina was still able to join us though and she see what a little fish Jax is becoming. He liked carrying the ball around the pool with him, I am thinking maybe he has a future in water polo?
After such a work out in the pool, someone had a pretty big appetite. One of the many things you can count on when visiting my parents, is lots of good food. This is Jax licking his plate...
and this is what happened soon after.
A messy baby results in cute diaper photos though. :)
Happy 4th of July!

The Second Annual Jax Classic
We got back from Florida on Saturday, just in time for the Second Annual Jax Classic on Sunday! Pictures from last year's First Annual Jax Classic are here. This year was a little different from last year. Because of the oppressive heat (apparently it isn't just miserable for pregnant ladies) they moved the races for the entire weekend to night races. While I usually love night racing, this created an interesting situation since the main guest for the night has a 6:30 bedtime! Luckily I was able to get Jax down for his afternoon nap a little later than usual and he was able to stay up late enough for the race. We had a great time, and of course I took a couple of pictures. :)
Trying to decide which ponies were looking good.
It was interesting to have a mobile little man this year, he kept us on the move!
We had a great view of the track from our seats.
Jax was much more interested in the trophy this year.
I was afraid he wasn't going to want to give it away to the winner!
Family picture. :)
Jax gets his love of hats from his Papa Bear I think.
I find myself loving all pictures of Jax's curls.
Probably because I know they probably won't be there forever. They are just precious.
We took this picture last year. Glad Jax was able to stay awake for the race this time!
On the track last year. |
And they were off!
Jax was very happy for the horse that won. He even clapped for them.
Here was the winner!
The jockey for the winning horse gave Jax her goggles which I thought was really sweet.
Like last year, we weren't able to get next to the horse for liability reasons, which a family full of lawyers completely understands. So this is as close as Jax was able to get.
Here is a picture from the trophy presentation.
We were able to have a great time even if it was a million degrees outside and the Second Annual Jax Classic was a big success. Now we have to figure out what we are going to do next year when we have two little guys!
